In December 2000, Duane Horio took over the reigns of Aiea Manapua. He embarked on his journey to craft delicious manapua and other delectable snacks made fresh daily at his Aiea storefront. Acquiring the recipes of the original owners, he brought back the traditional flavors of manapua and is carrying on the long tradition of Chinese "street food" Hawaii residents have grown up with for generations. It's part of our cultural identity and so ono to eat!
Aiea Manapua and Snacks offers both steamed and baked versions of the original char siu bao (manapua). Adding a modern twist to their manapua selections, they added shoyu chicken, vegetarian, black sugar, PIZZA! Yes, PIZZA, manapua and so much more. Check out the full menu here.
